San Angel Inn continues a rich and fascinating tradition…A story of hospitality woven into the tapestry of Mexico itself. The colorful origins of the original San Angel Inn in Mexico City can be traced back to 1692, when a beautiful hacienda was built near the town. In 1915, the hacienda became a popular restaurant; in 1962, the Debler family took it over and made the restaurant, San Angel Inn, one of the finest in Mexico. Now, with San Angel Inn at Epcot’s World Showcase, the Debler family extends to the United States the caliber of dining which has long made San Angel Inn a Mexican landmark. For here the accent is on authenticity, and on presenting the subtle flavor and surprising tastes which are genuinely Mexican.

Mr. Richard Debler is the president of Palmas, LLC. He currently owns two operations: San Angel Inn Restaurant at Epcot’s World Showcase in the Mexican Pavilion and Springs Food Service at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. Mr. Richard Debler has been involved in the restaurant business since he was 16 years old, when he began working with his father at San Angel Inn Restaurant in Mexico City and has been a partner with Walt Disney World Company since 1980.

Now in 2010 we are adding a new venue offering a waterside restaurant that will include both table service “La Hacienda de San Angel” and quick service option “La Cantina de San Angel”, making a perfect place to eat and watch illuminations creating a wonderful experience for the guests.
